Buit I Didn'T
BUT I DIDN'T
When just a young married couple
starting together on life's way,
sometimes I wanted to tell you
how much I loved you each day,
But I didn't.
I often thought it would nice
as we walked along the sand,
watching the sun going down,
to reach out and take your hand.
But I didn't.
I was busy doing lots of things
that so many wives must do,
and should have taken more time
to be there, caring for you.
But I didn't.
Retirement's come, I now have time
to do all those things, you'll see.
But now your memory's fading,
I was sure you'd remember me.
But you didn't.
Use the time you have while here
by expressing your love each day,
either to husband, family or friend
never having regret to say,
But I didn't.
