Build Not a Wall of Trash
Build not a wall of trash
When the old wall is cracked
Do not ignore the gulf
Make a mortar of steel
And retaining-wall of granite
Make your wall Mount Zion.
Pelt not your wall with dirt
Nor perforate on it many holes
Or stuff it like a warehouse
Your wall is not a lifting crane.
The wall is your World
The last man standing
To walk with like railing
When the vertebrae are weak
To lean on like a pillar
When wither like the flower
To scratch your back for you
When jolly fellows are gone.
Build not now a wall of trash
Or someday like plane you crash
