Bubble Gum & Cigarettes

Bubble gum and cigarettes
Friday night party crowd
Driving down the backroads
With her hair blowing in the breeze
She was flying.......
With a smile on her face
As she sang along with the radio
Her favorite song
Faster, faster
She was flying.......
Two miles from home
Her tire slipped off
Out of control she sped
Twisting, turning
She was flying.....
Lying helpless she prayed
Someone, anyone would help her
Unmoving and quiet
Her eyes closed and then....
She flew.

So sad because this happens to so many of our youth. Cut down before they have a chance to live. You handled the topic beautifully. Keep writing. Sara
