Brother With a Familiar Cover
Most look at the cover and never bother to open the book
What a way to go through life, everyone they meet judged at first look
Their ignorance can’t weigh heavy on your heart, you deserve more
You must be confident in who you are, spread your wings and soar
I have walked in your shoes as many others, understanding just how you feel
Your true happiness you can no longer allow them to steal
I see who you are despite the world’s perception of your cover
Those who are strong will break down your wall and truly discover
We are all human which allows us to make mistakes
Caring what others think will break you, too high of stakes
Live right by all, the reflection you see will be proud
Ignore the judgments of others, find the silver lining in each cloud
When all is said and done you know how hard you’ve strived
After all, the hardest part of your life you already survived
Stay on the path you have chosen, with God by your side you can’t lose
A genuinely happy soul, simply depends on what you choose
