Broken Wings
Broken wings
I fall from the sky.
No longer able to soar.
Pain shoots through my core.
Will i look at myself with shame.
Will I place blame.
I can no longer reach my dreams.
Now descending through the boundless shadows.
Shifting figures loom overhead.
Wind carrels my now shattered wings.
Spiral do the emotions of our life’s
My wings not yet strong enough to escape the pain.
Not yet fast enough to run from the sadness.
Not yet developed enough to last through the seasons.
Not yet thick enough to repels the rejection of the world.
No not yet.
But I will still fly.
For black is the heart that remains closed to the truth.
One does not need to grow wings for we our born with them.
So even if my heart breaks.
Even if my friends leave.
Even if the light dims.
Even if the world stops spinning.
Even if there is no more love.
Even if all is dark.
Even if there is no more believers.
I will fly
yes I will fly with these still beautiful broken wings.
