Broken Wing

The only reason an angel will fall
Is when they break a wing
I know this is true, I found one too
And mine could really sing

She sang of Heaven all day long
And the joy that was waiting her there
And anyone she'd meet, outside on the street
That's the message that she would share

Simply everyone loved my angel
Some even called her that name
As beautiful as can be, everyone could see
We knew since the moment she came

I was married to her for fourty-two years
And then my angel had to leave
For I knew one day that she'd go away
Leaving me here to grieve

I miss my angel with the broken wing
She was also my very best friend
It takes fourty-two years and plenty of tears
For an angel's wing to mend
