Broken Vows

Heartache and pain caused by the one you love. The hurt and betrayal is so hard to let go of. They promised to love you until death do you part. How could they hurt you and break your heart? Taking those vows in the presence of family and friends; sacred vows broken, for such a loss there are no amends. The wounds so deep in your heart and soul; Love, trust, and honesty they stole leaving you with anger, bitterness and pain; dampening your spirit, making you feel insane. Their actions and lack of concern for your marriage a committed relationship they did disparage. How much more pain can you possibly endure? How much longer must you feel insecure? The answers will come to you in time. Out of the pit of despair you must climb. If you choose to forgive and make things work, you mustn’t allow hatred and anger to lurk. Communication is key, discuss what transpired; setting goals and boundaries are required. Rebuilding a marriage can be done hard work and recommitment can pay off in the long run. If one of you simply cannot forgive, constantly fighting and the pain you choose to relive; it’s best to give up and throw in the towel. You’ll never trust, you’ll always speak foul; cursing them out because of the affair, though it happened years ago, the pain is still there. You choose to hold on to the hurt; you were wronged and betrayed you always assert. Finally, your spouse can take no more; they pick themselves up off the floor, no longer willing to be your doormat, tired of the battles and the combat. They realize they’ll never be forgiven; the affair will be thrown at them, again and again. After so much self condemnation and feeling like an abomination, they come to the realization their marriage has no foundation, nothing left to rebuild, just complication. Giving up on marriage is not an easy task; for a divorce, it’s hard to ask. We’re all human and can make a mistake, putting your marriage at stake causing your spouse heartache when your wedding vows you break. From experience, let this be a lesson learned for the happiness and well-being of all concerned. Let go and move on with your life, don’t waste your days in strife. If you want to be happy someday, true forgiveness is the only way.

Well said Cynthia and very good advice, like you said anyone can make mistakes but to forgive is an act of grace. Forgiving heals one’s broken heart and helps the one who did wrong to put the past behind them and move along… Belle
