Broken Trust

Broken Trust


 I went for a walk today
Just to try and clear my mind
The things that really troubled me
The answers so hard to find

You left me for another
And it broke my heart in two
I cried so many tears 
Because my love for you was true

Now you have come back to me
And said leaving a big mistake
You have left me in a quandary
Because I fear you are too late.

I cried a million tears 
Yes, that is oh so true
But the pain finally went away
and I  got over you.

Now you are asking me to love you
Just the way  I used to do
If only there was a way for us
But the trust I had is missing too

We simply cannot go back 
That was another life and time
I gave you all I had to give
And you crushed this love of mine

I am sorry I cannot retrieve it
Because Trust and love go together
My trust for you is broken
And the love is  gone forever.

So I went for a walk today
Just to try to clear my mind
And I finally found the answers 
They had been there all the time.
