Broken Promises

Where do broken promises go
When they become a lie?
Do they simply just pass away,
Or just refuse to die?

Does someone keep them locked away,
Hoping we'll forget?
Or until the lie begins to grow
And turns into regret

Do they fade away with memories,
To remember them no more?
Or are they passed through history,
Turning them to lore?

Is there a place to pick and choose,
The one that broke your heart?
Is it written in a book somewhere,
As modern heartbreak art?

Where do broken promises go?
Can someone please explain
I have a few that broke my heart
And is causing me this pain

this is a very nice poem, larry. Great writing from you. And hey, I sent you a soupmail or maybe I just asked you under your poem in a comment, but I had a prize for your win in my epitaph contest and needed your address. I had hoped to get it in the mail for you by halloween. Anyway, if I don't hear from ya soon, I guess there is nothing I can do. Luv, Andrea
