Broken Promise

You promised me
again today
That you wouldn't
be led astray
From the truths that
You know to be right
But each time it happens
It ends in a fight

You've promised me
So many things before
But each one has been broken
and then dropped upon the floor
Each time you say your sorry
Each time I want to believe
Each time I give in
And I grant you reprieve

Your promise to me
Nolonger has meaning
Each broken promise
Has been truly demeaning
Each broken promise
Has broken our trust
And in the end of it all
I will do what I must.
