Broken Memories

Somewhere, somehow
In the midst where shadows are plagued
Something has to break
Something has to ache
...And the rain we heard last night
Has now stopped, the sun shines through the drapes
Giving me a new emotion
Calling in about last night
Talking about how we danced
People whispered, "They really tripped the light fantastic"
Somewhere, somehow
In the midst where shadows play
Something has to give
Something has to take
Do you remember, how we played like children?
Laughing too, at our mistakes
Don't you recall how our minds used to work
How come we forget, is gaining knowledge the answer why?
..But somewhere, somehow
In the midst where love is stored
Something has to live
Something has to die
Playing silly games and knowing the simple things
Rules didn't matter to us
Somewhere, somehow
In the midst where we all want to be
Something has to be trapped
Something has to be free
And our souls were at peace
Our minds reached new heights
Remembering about last night, how we danced
And all the people all around
Whispered, "they're really tripping the light fantastic".
