Broken Hope

A place of death and collapse
A silent world, a painting perhaps
A broken light that glows for truth
But deadly now from the spark of abuse

Nothingness guiding me on
I feel nothing, but I feel what’s gone
I am the things that you deny
And so you hate, and so I will die

Colder now, such pain and despair
You flick the switch as I pray in this chair
A darker light swallows my mind
Until I end, until I arise

Creeping eyes staring at me
Condemn me now, before I can speak
You turn away, I turn towards
You gave me life, you cursed me with claws

Shallowness crafted by fear
To condescend your right to adhere
Bitterness shadowed by pride
The thing I am now feeds on your lies

Paintings forced out of me
For what I was wishes to see
A knight in arms crawling from death
A broken hope, even in my last breath
