Broken Heart

At the dawn of this golden spring
My heart broke
And like a wilted flower
He lost all his beauty
Like a dream unfinished
Our story ended abruptly
Carrying away with him our crazy thoughts
Between yesterday’s dreams and today’s reality my mind was sailing
Awaken, I could no longer sleep so I stay here pondering over what was going on
Morpheus my friend of yesterday left me
God of heaven, am I lost?
Have I taken the wrong path?
My heart, frail like a newborn
Is trampled again
But driven by an innate maternal instinct
I wrapped him in a white linen
And like a rekindled flame
He beamed and let himself be lulled
In the hollow of my cosy arms
Galvanized by a strong glimmer of hope and pride
We are now ready to stand up and face
Because isn’t it true that only those who struggle meet success and joy
Therefore we will seek for happiness wherever it is
