Broken Gift

You took something that was once so beautiful to me
Twisted it, manipulated it, made it ugly
Then you turned around and gave it back
Different, discarded, bruised, black
And expected me to accept it the same
As it always had been

But it's not the same for me anymore
I don't want or need it like I did before
So now I'm giving it back to you
Different, yes, but at least it is true
But don't expect it to be the same
I will never take it back again
