Broken Dreams

A dream of hidden death,
 squeezing out the ember years.
 Embedded in her flowers
 dripping, drenched in nectar tears.

 And now, the dream of a dying soul;
 Confined. A trembling heart of tears.
 Working hard, so very hard
 for only a memory of wasted years?

 Erotic debt and a laughing lie
 and in the dreams of yesteryear.
 visions of happiness and wonderment,
 reality whispers, "Did anyone care?"

 Blacker days emerge and draining worth.
 Painful living calls to die.
 A pathetic soul dared to dream.
 Forever in the dream I cry.
