Broken Antennae

Still through the foggy mist of the night Comes ringing love's sweet, incessant calls Of crickets and creatures out of sight Their warm hearts poured where no footstep falls Yeah I want to hear them knocking too Your footsteps breathing at the dorm's door I wait to hear sweetest from the dew Your whispers again, O I am sure The phone will ring if you are now well Yet all day and night the silence snares The phone, time leashed me under its spell Midst nature's noise, for you, love despairs. No signal, no signal, its broken The antennae of our world. And I Shall wait like a saint waits on heaven And dance if you laugh and never cry.
