Broken

Glass from the mirror
Shattered on the floor,
She doesn't know
If she can do it anymore.
Her heart has been broken
And it’s impossible to fix,
Her body is bruised all over
Like she’d been hit with bricks.
A broken bottle
Lays on the ground,
All she remembers
Is the sound.
The sound of her children crying out
“Mommy don’t leave”,
There’s so much more
She wanted to achieve.
But she chose the life
To drink every day,
Now she’s dying
And doesn't realize she
Wasted her life away.
She cries the last minutes
Before she passes away,
There’s a few word’s
She wants to say.
“Lord, please forgive me
For I have sinned,
Take me with you
To begin a new life again.
I've made mistakes
In my past,
But I promise you
This will be my last”.
Next day comes around and
Her kids walk in the door,
They see their mother’s body
Laying cold on the floor.
Beside her is a note
To them; she wrote,
“My dearest children
Who read this,
I’m so sorry I left this way
But I don’t want you to be sad on this day.
I’m in a better place now
With the Lord up above,
Just call my name and I’ll be there within a blink of an eye
You’ll always have my heart, and all of my love”.

Thats hard to read, being a mom, and my father leaving that way, your words make an impact and hope that others will know the emotions that follow are hard ones to swallow
