Broken

You did it baby you finally got your way, your not going to live to see another day. I found your note crumpled up on the floor, I know baby you just couldn't take any more. This life was not meant for some on like you, a pure soul beautiful that's true. I'm not going to wake you baby, not this time. I cant hold on to you no longer my selfishness would be my crime. You look like an Angel, a perfect angel, your halo is broken but he's gunna fix you, just like new. I watch you whilst you lay silent upon our bed, I listen to the soft sound of your breathing as I stroke your head. Your beautiful Red hair that lights up every room, the stars look down in envy, you are the sun that eclipses the moon. You will always be, perfect, perfect, to me. You seemed so happy yesterday as we lay on the grass looking at the stars, scanning the heavens for Jupiter and Mars. It seemed like a dream, like we were young again, vibrant and free. Was this your plan all along. One last goodbye, as we lay together watching the sky. I will sit by your side and hold your hand, watch you sore to the mother land. You look like an Angel a perfect angel, your halo is broken but he's gunna fix you, just like new. Don't carry your burden baby, I will be ok, spread your wings and fly away. You look like an angel, a perfect angel, your halo is broken but he's gunna fix you, just like new.

Interesting read Wendy, it could do with good structure with 4 line stanzas making it easier to read. I like your rhyme and imagery, do keep writing. Great th I meet fellow Brig here, Gordon

Hi Gorden. Thank you for your comment. This is one of my poems that I have made in to a song. These are song lyrics. I am starting to adapt some of my poetry to songs. I would love to be a lyricist for artists.
