Broken
Somewhere in time, my effort not coerced
by God's entwine, I sought as only verse
seeks love's true rhyme, seeks just to know rehearse
can double twine, as of a thought could nurse.
But thee and mine, acquitted by reverse,
rebuilding line thy effigy's converse
finds pieces fine that loving calms adverse -
accords divine, conditional reserve.
Then to, that sign - so broken, as to search,
nor vanity can impose its random urge.
That master plan creation brings to earth
is broken . . . by God's hand, to reckon serve!
