Broad Horizons of My Youth
Broad Horizons of My Youth
I remember now the broad horizons of my youth.
Shrunken now to pitiful peeks at an uncertain future.
I recall the golden years when anything was possible.
When the juices of my body supplied strength.
My heart retained its piety.
For many things, I did then aspire.
I fear they have all now been burnt by the eternal fire.
Leaving only the ashes derived from a failed desire.
