Brightest Light

Smiling and laughing, But the joy is lacking. I’m going through the motion, But devoid of emotion. Where do I go from here, Since you are no longer near? How do I find meaning again, When I feel so much pain? I barely feel alive, And I’m looking for the drive To master this world called life. Do you have any advice? Whisper in my ear, Or, please do appear. I want to see your human form As I brave the biggest storm. So many wasted moments; All that’s left are well-meaning condolences. How can the world keep on turning When its brightest light is no longer burning? The sky may be blue, But gray is all I see without you.
