Bright, Clear Picture

A city park after
a storm
    The leaves on
the trees are drooping
     small puddles
in the muddy field
     birds flying overhead
Empty now, the park
    almost seems like a
      living organism
    Drip, drip,drip
as the water slides down
    a statue
     The benches are wet
but I decide to sit
    on one
 Breathing in air that
has been cleansed by
     the downpour
If I only felt this way all the time!
a squirrel rushes up
   an oak tree
   life goes on
as it always has
    Sometimes we
need a heavy rain
      to clear the air
to feed the grass
to make us feel
     whole again
The squirrel comes
     down again
curious and hoping for
       food

Another awesome poem! You are truly special, Matt! It takes a special person to "see" all of this. Beautiful! Another fav.! Totally enjoyed this, too! Peace, Audrey

Nature cleansed and mind refreshed left open for thoughts to flow and the pen to go swiftly across the page with the Spirit in control. Keep writing. Thanks for the comments on my work. Sara
