My sincere thanks to Teppo Gren for bridging the gap and taking time out of his hectic schedule to visit me on his recent visit to Australia from Europe. Teppo was one of the very first to welcome me on my debut poem on Poetry Soup, and from thereon in continued to support me with his excellent comments and feedback. I really appreciated your encouragement and taking the trouble to get in touch and visit us in Sydney. I look forward to meeting up again on your next trip. Miles of endless sands and seas In today’s times can be travelled with ease Bridging the gap between family and friends In a life composed of so many odds and ends Extend the hand of friendship to proceed Beautiful friendships are what we need

Thank you Besma for your very positive comment. I can understand your liking for this poem considering the gap that needs to be bridged in the segregational gap that exists in your country - Tunisia. Maybe one day I will bridge the gap and visit you...Maria :) PS I think you will like my next poem - 'The True Knight' which accentuates that there should be no social distinction that I have symbolized through the use of fabric references.

Hi Maria, i love your views on friendship, expressed in your poetic piece. Excellent as always. It is wonderful that you met Teppo face to face. It shows that some friendships made can go on and on. You are so right Richard, it was thrilling to meet my very first PS friend in person, albeit time was short. Teppo is a great poet, and a very encouraging one too, there were four of us women who joined in the same month, My sister Cecilia, Lissa Ricci and Anne Marie Corrigan, two of have left, and Lissa occasionally posts. Teppo was such an inspiring and encouraging poet to four of us. Thanks Richard, both for the visit and lovely comments always....Maria
