Breathless

I stand amongst the shadows where the light and dark divide

In a struggle for my sanity Pandora's box has opened wide

Madness calls me forward whilst defiance holds me back

Am I just another wanderer who falls between the cracks

One forgotten breath tipped the scales of my defense

To the court of justice here present, I let slip the veil of my pretense

Inside stirs turmoil, confusion and pain

Outside I drown in the tears of rain

Breath once forgotten, the heart missed a beat

Into solitude and loneliness went forth my retreat

Scared of the promise, afraid of denial

Love are you my friend or my deadliest rival?

Breath, one, forgotten not gone

Breathing in courage, I know you are the one

Strength come to settle, find a home in my soul

Rebirth of belief out of depths of unwhole

Forgotten one breath, do I remember to breathe

Do I stay and fight for this beauty

Or crumble to pieces and leave

Do I relight the fire of the flame I blew out

One forgotten breath stirs within me

And cries let me out
