Breathing Knives

Breathing Knives
By Kevin Robey

Verse 1
With all I can’t un-hide
There’s beauty left inside
With all I can’t deny
There’s nowhere left to lie

To those who cannot see
The reason for my misery
To those who can’t relate
Here’s something to contemplate

Chorus 1
I can’t break through
I can’t despise
This idolized disguise

I can’t see clearly
Breathing knives
Fighting for my life

Verse 2
For everything I’ll never know
I’ll give my shine, I’ll let it show
For everything I’ll never taste
I’ll give you mine, won’t go to waste

To anyone who sees like me
Follow me and let’s be free
To anyone who won't outrun
Lies we left, when we were done

Chorus (repeat)
I can’t break through
I can’t despise
This idolized disguise

I can’t see clearly
Breathing knives
Fighting for my life

Verse 3
Maybe it will be all right
No reasons left to fight
Maybe it is just a dream
That's bursting at the seams

One day soon I think I’ll know
It’s better now than it will show
One day soon I’ll change my ways
I think I’ll start, maybe today

Chorus 3
I’m breaking through
I’m shining bright
This never ending light

I’m seeing farther
Breathing right
This never ending fight
