Breathe

Rage washes over me like a scorched river of molten lava...
Breathe, I say... Breathe...
The condescension hits me like a crumbling rock wall...
Breathe, I say... Breathe...
Flashes of dark violence race through my convoluted mind...
Breathe, I say... Breathe...
The little voices whisper unspeakable, horrible things...
Breathe, I say... Breathe...
Clarity finally arrives and my body ceases to shake...
I huff and I puff and I seethe...
Four breaths is all it takes...

Breathing seems to help when one reaches a certain stage.
