Break

shocked cracked bones
tormented with their new knowledge
all began with
a fall so hard the ground screamed
not even when years earlier my child died within
my womb
and the knife
brought blood to the skin
to free him
to be buried
not even then
did I know
not until my bones knew
they can be made no longer whole
did
I know
I can break

Tonytocaa, Thank you. You know how it is when someone feels your poetry! I read the first one on your list and loved it. I don't say that often.
