Branded

Though it seems my life is gone
My heart broken beyond repair
Trust in people I have no more
My future holds nothing but despair.

Though you cast me away again
Like a worn out old shoe
Made me feel something’s wrong with me
Ever wondering what did I do.

Though my heart still loves you so
Even after all that you’ve done
Wishing the memory of you would leave
Thoughts of you to have none.

Though I feel I will never heal
From all the anguish you inflicted
In time I’ll mend, leaving scars
My heart forever branded.
