Brand New High

I said anyway it’s too late
For a brand new high tonight
You took a drag and looked at me and said
Naw that can’t be right

You said I think you should sing about
What’s going on right now
I said okay but I like the way
The music used to sound

Sirens whirled around me
In a great fiery dance
I was looking for true love
But kept finding romance

I had a feeling I knew something
But couldn’t speak its name
You told me it was futile
To give meaning to the pain

I woke up someplace new today
Where I’m sure I’ve never been
I found myself still gasping
At the vividness of the dream

This dream was a trip. Pun intended Andrew.
