Boxes
I’m living in a box
Made of paper fears
Behind cardboard curtains
I've lived all my years
Shutting out my dreams
Told I shouldn't fly
Never thought to question
Never asking why
Aspirations set aside
Like all the other sheep
Afraid to climb the mountain
Thinking it’s too steep
I’ve finally found the zipper
Which hides the wolf within
Stepping out of costume
Removing sheepish skin
Four walls no longer hold me
Torn apart along the seams
My first step is toward freedom
A second pursues my dreams
