Bought and Sold
Anxiety visits my mind and the thoughts find their way in,
I'm speaking of the thoughts that bind and squeeze until you let them win,
Bullying your brain until it gives in and obeys,
Wishing they would leave and if they do you wish they'd stay away,
But eventually it just repeats,
And your heart begins the skipping beats,
You can fight them with a pill, but that cure is not real, and, in time, they begin to steal and drive your mind, they take the wheel,
If only I could find a cure,
And keep my mind both safe and pure,
Amongst this world of worried thought,
Where sanity is sold and bought.
