Botticelli's Dream
Adoration of the gifted Magi
In colours of red, gold and blue
Tremendous beauty that captivates you
See the Birth of Venus, seductress
Life seen within her alluring eyes
Silencing mortal mans sad and lonely cries
In La Primavera, Allegory of Spring
Such splendor in the garden evening
Light filters through trees, so intriguing
Then shone Madonna of the Magnificat
Serenity and grace so wondrously personified
Gentle Lord upon her lap, long before we crucified
In the Cestello Annunciation
Angel spreads her glorious wings
Triumphantly of Heaven, she so softly sings
The beauty of the Madonna of the Pomegranate
Surrounded by six angelic smiles of gorgeous gold
What exquisite images, to silently behold
Searching the luminous heavens
Combing the pastel skies
He saw all this beauty, within his laboured eyes
With brush he gently stroked
On faded canvas and blank ceiling
With each stroke, it exhilarated his being
Raising his eyes to heaven
At the visions he had seen
He closed his eyes and thanked the Lord
For the images became Botticelli's Dream
