Notes About The Poem

Boston

Boston

Written immediately following the Boston Marathon Bombings of 2013.
God Bless America!

To those injured in Boston
out running for a cause.
The things you are enduring
has brought the whole world to a pause.

As we stand in the distance
though miles away from you.
Even in your sufferings
the whole world suffers too.

Holding you within our hearts
and lifting you up when we pray.
Even now we stand beside you
right up to this day.

Saddened by the state we're in
saddened by those lost.
United in our freedom
but saddened by it's cost.

Even now this very moment
we all stop and ask why?
We may never understand
no matter how we try.

The hate that others harbor
knowing that we've done no wrong.
Even in not understanding
it's together we stay strong.

In spite of any tragedies
and miles tween you and I.
Together we remain as one
in freedom til we die.

Beautiful, sad write, Edwin. It was a sad day indeed, as many others that happened and made the world stop and reflect on its current state. We know however, that is still in control. A 7. Kim :)

Amen Kim. Posted this not so much in memory of the event but in honor of the enduring human spirit. God bless my friend. I hope your week is amazing. Something you're deserving of. :) Hugs. Ed
