Borrowed Words - I wanted you to see
"I wanted you to see what real courage is, instead of getting the idea that courage is a man with a gun in his hand." — Harper Lee, To Kill a Mockingbird
"I wanted you to see what real courage is,
instead of getting the idea that courage is a man with a gun in his hand."
Courage is not always displayed by using your fist
Nor a weapon, as you will come to understand
It is said that true courage is being willing
to take the path that you believe in,
to be true to yourself and lead a life that's fulfilling
when all others take the easy way to follow the crowd.
Violence often denotes cowardice
Always stand up for the underdog by speaking out loud.
There's no debate. Don’t retaliate
If she makes you so mad, uses all the patience you had,
Dear son - Walk the other way!
If she hits you first , so your anger will burst,
If she blocks you, so you can’t leave, please believe,
My manly son – walk the other way !!!
Sometimes it takes more courage to do nothing and walk away.
There within it takes real courage than with a weapon in hand to stay.
