Borrowed Words

Upon the dawn, when shadows fall,
A gentle voice begins to call,
Reminding hearts of what we chase—
The fleeting hours, the silent grace.
Out on the road, the world turns fast,
While dreams and fears are holding fast,
But in the hush between the tides,
A spark within the spirit hides.
And so I pause, the journey stilled,
To ponder hopes yet unfulfilled,
And in the whisper of the breeze,
A wisdom comes to set at ease:
"All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given us."
These borrowed words, both old and true,
Are lanterns lighting pathways new.
So let me walk, and let me strive,
To grant these moments meaning, life.
Time may be brief, the night may end,
But purpose is the truest friend.
For in each breath and every choice,
The borrowed words become my voice.
