There is at least one in every bar . . .
If that’s a heartache you’re drinking
Then to my way of thinking
You shouldn’t drink it alone
Mind if I sit with you, baby
Between the buts and the maybes
Go ahead an’ turn off your fone
The game is easy, there’s no rules
It only takes two broken fools
The stakes are high, but that’s just fine
You bet your heart against mine
You lay your cards on the line
chorus
I’ve seen that look a thousand times before
I’m here for the same reason you’re here for
I’ll help you lose that self-control
Out of a sad, weary soul
Some-times, the lonely takes its toll
So you like flirting with danger
Wrapped, in the arms of a stranger
Hey, we got nothing to lose
When your pride has been dented
It’s just a game they invented
It’s called the Honky-Tonk Blues
You came here, looking for trouble
I see your heart’s on the rubble
Freedom’s the high that you crave
Let’s pretend, that we’re winning
Start an old, new beginning
Fortune favours the brave
Chorus repeat
I’ve seen that look a thousand times before
I’m here for the same reason you’re here for
I’ll help you lose that self-control
We’re just two sad, weary souls
Some-times, the lonely takes its toll
