Born of This Earth
Born of this earth
And live a life that I love
No matter my girth
I am rising above
From a life filled with pain
Comes a big part of me
We will all need the rain
Just like a big tree
From the earth I did come
One day back I will go
You can see where I’m from
Am I needed to show
Displayed my disdain
With emotional force
From what I pertain
I stayed to my course
It was up on the soil
That I learned to be free
It was there I did toil
And I learned to be me
Taking my med
For dulling my pain
With a feeling of dread
Up here in my brain
Going back to the soil
Is what we all do
You do not want to spoil
What was best for the crew
When I retire
Bury me deep
My work is for hire
But now I must sleep
