Born Again

I laid my fate on the mat of my heart And walked the path for a brand new start Unto a place that I once knew I tried to tame the morning dew Buried my past under a rock Ignored the scorn and docked the mock Dug my future, planted the seeds Killed the pests and all the weeds All that I wanted was peaceful life I walked away from trouble and strife The chance I had could only be one Once I slipped, it could be gone So I endure the prejudice and hate I must be willing to make the wait For the rising of my morning sun To blast the cast and have my fun
