Body on Fire

There’s a pain in my ribs
pains in my feet
a pain in one arm
and pain causing heat
My body’s on fire
sunburnt it feels
I sure do wish
this Fibro would heal

My legs are restless
I am trying to sleep
this pain radiating
I don’t want to keep
Pains penetrating
inside and out
the average person
would scream and shout

But no not I
my spirit is strong
this is my life
so I push on
Some days weaker
I put up a fight
most days exhausted
like I am tonight

The struggle is real
and different each day
I can only hope
they’ll soon go away
Until that day
I live with the curse
But try not to moan
cause some have it worse.

That’s the trouble with growing older, you get a pain in the shoulder, in the arms and legs, hands and feet, in fact the outcome is dreadfully bleak… Beryl
