Blue Nights
A cry of loneliness
Goes out in the night
A plea of longing
For loves missing light
A heart is beating
For unknown love
Awaiting arrival
Of that beautiful dove
A teardrop wells
In the corner of eye
Heartstruck emotion
For love passing by
A quivering lip
The reach of a hand
To touch the desire
Between woman and man
Cold is the shadow
Of others in love
They soak up the sun
That shines from above
If only a moment
Could be spared for the meek
The touch of a hand
Or a kiss on the cheek
A soft spoken word
Romantically said
A stroke of the hand
Down the back of the head
A gentle embrace
In the night when it's cold
Somebody to love
Somebody to hold
A cry of lonliness
Goes out in the night
Begging redemption
From this sorrowful blight
