Blue Moon

Blue Moon

Last night we had a blue moon
I’m not talking about the beer
That we had with dinner
With friends we hold so dear
No, last night we had a blue moon
That lit up half the sky
Reflecting off the ocean
You couldn’t help but sigh
Last night we had a blue moon
The kind that’s kind of rare
A full moon usually comes each month
This month there was a pair
Last night we had a blue moon
As if upon request
As the man who first walked on it
That day was laid to rest
