Blue Again

So in love,
like a fool I fell.
I thought you were sent from above,
not from hell.

Your shy smile
turned into a sly grin.
Yeah, I felt joy for a while.
Now I’m just blue again.

I wanted to believe in you,
felt something I’d never known.
Now I wonder why you left,
left me all alone.

Yeah, the joy I felt put me in a spin.
But now I’m just blue again,
  Blue again,
     Blue again.

a real gem I found down here. Was hoping to find a new one because I've seen all your latest. Your lyrics could be a song!

The song that launched Leanne's career - I enjoyed the listen and found myself wondering where she faded off, and why. I love your simplicity / brevity style of writing that conveys complicated and universally felt human emotions so well. You excel at such, Carole, and that is a blessing to us all. All the best ... o Carole, the line "your shy smile turned into a sly grin" came me the shivers... Most women have been sucked in at one time or another. Easy to relate to your poem. Well done.

Hey ZZ. Yes, I do love that song but I actually wrote the poem before listening to the song again and it had a different title. Then I listened to the song and decided to rename the poem and add the song. lol Crazy huh?
