Blossoms
Now dips in peace the bay
And I must go
Beyond the hills, the luscious fields
Of jasmines purple, and down to where
The starlight gleams below,
And today I watch the lacquered morn
Rise gently till the veils
from peach lilies are drawn.
Around the isles at dusk
Cool and chaste they lie,
While fragrant marigolds heave to sigh.
In a daze, the sun sets on earth's dome
Embossing a virgin orchid white;
Its crown a trail like a bride afloat
On dreamy air that meet the coast
To settle in the vault of gold,
While blossoms fair enrapture my view
Bright as Flora's eyes!
