Blindfold

My little picture bleeding in a broken frame
I take a closer look and ask if I have a name
Walking through the doorway, fear selling me pain
It’s always been this way
Blindfold and some blame

Terrified of knowing, the trait that held me high
I never had a smile apart from when I lie
What would I have become if I was born to try?
I’d never cry
Never die

Tears made of dust, emotion is in my mind
Years made of rust, emptiness is all I find
Any further and I know that I just fall behind
Everything I tried
Soon I’m going blind

Apocalyptic visions, sky is losing light
Reflections growing old, I’m feeding on all in sight
I deny I have a shadow by hiding in the night
Why do I still try to fight?
Black has taken white

My artificial heart can never let me down
The colour I don’t see will never let me frown
As long as I have nothing I know I’ll never drown
I collapse without a sound
In another hole I found
