Blessing the Bud
And then the day’s lights first touched your eyes
Your little fingers trying to clutch the air
Are you still in that darkness?
That deafening silence still ringing in your ears?
The world around you is rejoicing
With the utmost happiness she ever felt
Rejoicing are the trees, the sky, the mountain streams too
They have heard the tidings of Paradise you spelt
Are you crying my sweet lady? Oh for you
Let me bring the Moon down, the stars
Little butterflies must dance around you
Now shhh! All you revellers, keep mum
Look how gently sleep sits upon her eyes
Lemme give soft swings to her cradle
Our queen is on her way to a dewy sleep
And before I leave for a long journey
In the wilderness, My Lord, to you I pray
Let me carry the soft warmth of my new-born baby
Till the last rays of the sun go down with the day
