Blessed Kindness
Commended for being kind, I’m humbled
I praise the Lord Who has me enabled
To fulfill His will, even when stumbled
Confessing that there were times I grumbled.
God be thanked for my kindhearted parents…
Role models are they of goodness’ intents
Their example exudes with virtues scents
Blessed am I by their loving engagements.
Though not perfect, they taught me to be kind
“Such is pleasant.” They would remind
They warned: “To cruelty, don’t be aligned…
Be expert of kindness; there be refined.”
Nurtured with my siblings by their kindness
I’m secured within my home’s graciousness
Around family’s caring gentleness
Expressing full forgiveness-joyousness.
Having that “inherited” kindness trait
I’m moved to reach out midst apathy’s bait
Dealing well with others at peaceful rate
Showing real comfort; making them feel great.
Then I learned that God makes kindness fruitful
He’s the Author of life that’s meaningful
Imparting divine nature… powerful
For faith-deeds, effectively purposeful.
When applauded with congratulations
For my care-giving and life-building functions
I exalt God Who works in my actions
Purging my kindness from fleshly sanctions.
I’ll pursue being kind* for God’s glory
Reflecting His mercy midst evil’s fury
By His might, I’ll share His Gospel story
Spreading His love of blissful victory!
*Ephesians 4:32 And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you.
