Bless the Vampire
The Vampire swept through The long night,
traveling underneath the unknown stars,
carrying thoughts of a demonic creature,
wondering if he could shake it loose.
The Vampire peered into the darkness,
seeing everything as crystal clear,
humans sleeping,
others living with fear.
The Vampire,
with that deep, steady composure,
rips through the night,
looking for flesh,
and starving out the light,
comes across a child in the field,
praying.
A startled cry brought the child to his feet,
The Vampire sprawled motionless at his feet,
demons overreacting,
as an Angel spreads her wings,
protecting the child,
as it hurled the Vampire forward through the cold night,
taking with it,
the awful thirst for blood,
and the darkness that nourishes the fright.
