Blatant Chill in the Air

She only shows up on Halloween
Who was he speaking of? The Halloween queen?
A faerie? A brownie? A vixen? Ghoul? Gremlin or ghost?
He flew off on a broom, leaving her to worry the most.

She decided to sit in a velvet chair by the fire
the flames suddenly blew up, getting higher and higher
There was a blatant chill in the air, she covered her knees
out from a crack in the ceiling flew a ghost big as you please

She stayed where she was, but covered her head
Because this ghoul did not seem friendly, there was much to dread
there was a maniacal laugh that made her body turn cold.
She might have to stay hidden until she got very old.
