Black the Stars

Thinking of a past while looking forward ahead
What it was, what it means, what has been said

A long road of reflection the ins and outs of pain
Pieces are put together just to fall out once again

Hope is just a measure in the distance of belief
Crushed by the truth which lies inside of all the grief

Now standing all alone staring up into empty space
A sky full of black, for all the stars have been erased

Behind you is the future in a thought you'd never think
Mixed up in confusion with stars that no longer blink

                                          bmdavey@01/15/19
