Black Roses

This was originally a song...now most of the words are lost in time...
-----------------------------------------------------------------

You were
Always
So ALIVE

It hurts
So bad
To have to see you die

I watch them
Put you into the ground
We all stare in suspense,
Quiet, no sound

I set
Black roses
On your stone
Now I stand
Alone

One is never really alone if you keep the one you've lost alive in your heart of hearts, one day the black rose for which you've laid, live turn a crimson red again and live. but you'll never forget my friend that black rose plainted deeply within your soul. cheri beautiful write above. and thank you for your comments

It's sad, laura. Are there really black roses? A most fitting symbol of death!

Lost love Laura? It is sad these funerals but I guess last rites help with closure. Nice poem you wrote.

Smile ˜ Unless A Seed Falls Unto the Ground & Dies, Then, It Stands Alone; But, If It Dies Then, It Produces Much Fruit * No Matter The Colour Of The Rose, My Dear Sweeet Beautiful Laura, Fragrance Still Permeats From Within The Core Of Its Creation * And Again, Shall It Die, Then, Sweeter The Perfume * My Love, Forever; John!:) ˜
